Homecoming is the biggest event the Alumni Association hosts each year. With an array of events, including the Hillsborough Street Music Festival, the traditional Homecoming parade and football game, there is something for everyone. Come back to campus and help us celebrate NC State!

University Recreation Homecoming 5K

Art Outside the Box
Gregg Museum (1903 Hillsborough St.)| 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Ever try to paint abstract, calligraphy or throw a pot? Artists will help you all afternoon. The event is free and open to the public. Tour the historic chancellor's house and gardens. Watch famous topiary expert Pearl Fryar at work. Visit www.ncsu.edu/gregg for more information.
Homecoming Kickoff & Craziest Fan Contest
Carmichael Gym | 2 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Celebrate with the Wolfpack and show your NC State pride! This is where the excitement begins. We'll have music, food and giveaways and free Homecoming T-shirts. Join in the festivities, and if you're feeling inspired, enter the Craziest Fan Contest. Paint your body red, dress like a wolf - go crazy! You could be named Craziest Fan.

Raleigh Civic Chamber Orchestra

The orchestra will perform works based on environmental themes in recognition of the 50th anniversary of Rachel Carson's book, Silent Spring. Spirit Banner Competition

Show your Wolfpack Pride and inner Picasso with the Spirit Banner Competition. Just remember to include the Homecoming theme (A Wolfpack State of Mind) and NC State's celebration of its 125th anniversary. The rest is up to the judges.
Inter-Residence Council Decorating Competition

The Inter-Residence Council encourages you to get in the Homecoming spirit, as they host a residence hall decorating contest. Each residence hall will be provided materials to decorate their common spaces. East Campus, West Campus, Central Campus - show us what you've got!
Paint the Town Red

Hillsborough Street is ready to live it up, Homecoming style! Individuals and organizations paint the windows of Hillsborough Street establishments, adding some Wolfpack spirit to our favorite thoroughfare. Don't forget to have your window painted by 7 p.m.
Red, White and Rock with the Young Alumni Council
Talley Ballroom | 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Join the Young Alumni Council for the first "Red, White and Rock!" Groups must sign up as a team of four to compete for the winning title. Only 24 slots are available for groups! Once you have signed up, pick your favorite hit on the Rock Band 3 playlist and find your best rocking outfit. Participants will be selected on creativity, enthusiasm and overall performance. In the event of a tie, extra points will come from those in attendance, so bring your friends!
Vote Leader of the Pack

It's time to decide who you want representing NC State as our 2012 Leader of the Pack! In NC State's unique Homecoming competition, finalists are judged on scholarship, leadership, service and Wolfpack pride. Show your support and cast your vote online.
Voting is open from Oct. 29-30. Vote online!
Winners will be announced during halftime of the Homecoming football game on Nov. 3.

NC State loves to give back - we were one of only five universities named this year to the President's Higher Education Honor Roll for Community Service, the highest honor in the nation! Help us continue this tradition of Wolfpack service and save lives by donating blood in the Talley Ballroom. This year, we are excited to offer a special opportunity - a pint for a pint! Howling Cow ice cream will give one pint of delicious NC State ice cream to everyone who donates one pint of blood to the American Red Cross. NC State Wind Ensemble

Conducted by Paul Garcia, the ensemble will perform a work commissioned for the university's 75th anniversary, written by alumnus M. Thomas Cousins and reprised for the 125th anniversary. Halloween themed pieces will be performed during the second half of the concert. Host Ryan Buell and cohost Sergey Poberehzny from A&E's "Paranormal State" will be giving accounts of their experiences with the Paranormal Research Society. Buell and Poberehzny will be showing video recordings of strange occurrences they experienced while studying unexplained activities. Come to the Campus Cinema the night before Halloween to get spooked!

Cupcake War

It's NC State cupcake time! Participating groups bake and decorate cupcakes representing a Wolfpack State of Mind, and sell them in the Brickyard from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come support these new bakers by buying a cupcake! Sales success and judge's rankings on taste and appearance will determine who reigns victorious in this year's Cupcake War. Proceeds benefit the Kay Yow Foundation.
Canned Food Drive

Help us continue the tradition of Wolfpack service by donating cans in the Brickyard. This food will benefit local Triangle food shelters, providing meals for those in need. Thank you in advance for your generous support of our larger community.

All Hallow's Eve has come and gone, and Hillsborough Street played host to many a ghoul, ghost and goblin. Now NC State students do their part to scare away the debris and trash left over from a night of Halloween festivities. Student groups are each assigned a section of Hillsborough Street to beautify; judges will decide who best left the street clean.
