From Dixie Classic games to class registration to commencement to “Don’t ever give up,” Reynolds Coliseum has been many things to NC State: ROTC headquarters, campus hub, basketball mecca, concert central, presidential pulpit and more.

For all the roles it’s filled, one thing has remained constant at Reynolds: the place it holds in the hearts of Wolfpack students and supporters.

Hiding in a storage room my senior year the night before the 1986 (NC) State-UNC game because I didn't have a ticket. Also hearing Ronald Reagan's speech. — John Price

Watching Elton John in concert through a crack in an opened side door, next to his limos and security. never got caught! Free concert!

Going to registration and drop/add when we had to do this manually with computer punch cards … after some late night pre-semester parties … ugh!!!!! I remember just sitting down on the Big Block NC STATE "S" because all the lines were so long. — Lou Anne Chappell Bennett

The noise meeter — I will never forget the NCSU vs. Maryland regular season game in '74! They said that Maryland practiced with loud noise preparing for that game! — Liz Oldham Featherstone

One amazing moment in Reynolds Coliseum was when Bill Clinton came to speak. There was a moment of silence to honor Kay Yow, and the entire arena went absolutely silent for that moment. Nobody moved, no children talking, just complete silence. I thought that was incredible. — Darren Ley

Last home game of the 1975 season. UNC-Charlotte was the visiting team. David Thompson's jersey had been retired at the half. With two minutes or so to go, Towe launches an alley-oop to Thompson, who proceeded to jam it in up to his elbow (earning a technical). I though Reynolds was going to implode from the noise. — Jim Hunnicutt

David Thompson leaping to block Marvin Barnes' layup and tripping over Phil Spence's shoulder, landing head first and being taking off the court on a stretcher to Rex Hospital emergency room…then returning to the bench to watch them win (all one memorymind you!!). — Mike Smith

The Welcome Home for the 1983 National Champs! My Dad took me out of school and we drove up from Hertford, NC (3 1/2 hours) to be there early. I was 10 feet from Jimmy V! — Tim Bryant

Going to my freshman orientation and seeing Army ROTC cadets rappelling down the coliseum in woodland camouflage BDUs, green face paint and black berets.

4 years of USAF ROTC classes and all the concert events using our classrooms for show prep…classroom full of the Eagles' guitars, meeting Victor Borge & Billy Joel, color guard for many heartstopping basketball games, standing mid-court at midnight after studying and being the only person in the Coliseum. — Ron Riggan

Any time I have ever stepped in that building (Reynolds Coliseum) it was special. Before I went to school there for concerts and basketball games, during my college years at ballgames and speeches. After college for a few more ballgames. Wow, I miss that place! — Tara Harvey Becker
